Epilepsy is a clinically and etiologically heterogeneous brain disorder that remains difficult to treat in one third of patients. Our team aims to identify novel genes and genetic mechanisms implicated in epilepsy using advanced multi-omics strategies. We further use iPSC derived neuronal cultures and brain organoids to translate our genetic work into improved biological understanding of epileptic disorders and use these to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets.
